Wonderful Mind offers child-centred play therapy and filial therapy for families in Lalor, at our Doreen clinic. Lalor is in the City of Whittlesea, on the Mernda train line. Many Lalor families come into the clinic for first and key sessions, and use telehealth for others, such as parent reviews, to fit therapy around school and work.
Alongside individual sessions, our Play Therapy Social Group runs at our Doreen clinic during school terms, and filial therapy coaches parents to continue therapeutic play at home.
We also see families from Thomastown, Epping and Mill Park. Telehealth is available for many sessions.

Play therapy sessions are $193.99 per hour, with the first parent consultation billed as 1.5 hours. Play therapy can be NDIS-funded; it is not covered by Medicare. See all fees.

What age is play therapy for?
Play therapy suits young children who express themselves best through play, roughly from preschool through primary school. Older children may be better suited to art therapy, music therapy or psychology.
Can we combine clinic and telehealth sessions?
Yes. Many Lalor families attend the clinic for the first sessions and some ongoing ones, and use telehealth for others, such as parent reviews. Your clinician will talk with you about what works best for your child.
What is filial therapy?
Filial therapy trains and supports parents to run special play sessions with their child, strengthening the parent-child relationship.
