Jacqui Ornellas(she/her)

Jacqui is an experienced paediatric occupational therapist, accredited ICF coach, certified team coach and professional supervisor with more than 35 years’ experience working with children, families, practitioners and multidisciplinary teams.
 

Her career has spanned early childhood intervention, disability, education, private practice, professional development and organisational consulting. This gives Jacqui a strong understanding of both the clinical responsibilities of occupational therapy and the relational complexities practitioners encounter in their work.
 

Jacqui provides professional supervision to occupational therapists and occupational therapy
students at different stages of their development. Her approach is collaborative, reflective and responsive to the experience and learning needs of each supervisee.
 

Supervision may explore clinical and professional reasoning, person and family-centred practice, ethical decision-making, communication, professional boundaries, interdisciplinary collaboration and practitioner wellbeing. Jacqui creates a supportive yet appropriately challenging space where supervisees can reflect openly, consider different perspectives and develop confidence in their own professional judgement. Her expertise in coaching and adult development informs her focus on strengthening the “practitioner behind the practice”: the self-awareness, mindset and relational capability that influence how professional knowledge is applied.
 

For students, Jacqui offers a psychologically safe learning relationship where questions, reflection and uncertainty are recognised as important parts of professional growth. Her aim is to support thoughtful, capable and self-aware occupational therapists who can use their expertise confidently while building respectful partnerships with children, families and colleagues.
