Pek Lin Cerase  She/her

Pek Lin is an experienced counsellor and Child-Centred Play Therapist with over 16 years of dedicated experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across school and community settings. She is deeply passionate about creating a safe, accepting space where young people feel truly heard, understood, and free to be themselves.

Understanding that play is a child’s natural language, Pek Lin recognizes that children often express their complex feelings, needs, and experiences through play when words are hard to find. In the playroom, she provides a warm, trusting environment where children can explore their world at their own pace. Guided by unconditional positive regard, children in her care naturally develop greater confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) – RMIT University

  • Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology – Federation University

  • Child-Centred Play Therapy Clinical Program – Kylie Ellison Therapy and Training

Outside the Playroom When she isn’t supporting families, Pek Lin loves spending time with her own family, embarking on new adventures, tending to her indoor plant collection, and baking delicious treats—most of which mysteriously disappear from the kitchen shortly after leaving the oven!

Approach to therapy

Pek Lin supports children navigating emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental challenges. Her practice is proudly:

  • Child-Centred & Strengths-Based: Honouring each child's unique pace and special interests.

  • Neuro-Affirming & Trauma-Informed: Creating a safe, validating space for all neurotypes and backgrounds.

  • Tuning to Kids: is an evidence-based parenting program that focuses on the emotional connection between parents and their children. Instead of just managing behavior, the program teaches parents "emotional coaching"—the ability to recognize, understand, and respond to their child’s emotions in a supportive way.
