
Marta Musis She/Her
Marta is a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from the University of Melbourne and is currently completing the Educational and Developmental Psychology registrar program. With a multicultural background and having been born in Iraq, Marta is fluent in both English and Armenian. She is deeply committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed psychological care.
Marta has gained experience across diverse clinical and community-based settings, including Lifeline, Raise Foundation, private practice, primary and secondary schools, the Department of Education’s student support services, tutoring, and as an NDIS positive behaviour support practitioner. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, offering individual therapy as well as psychoeducational assessment services.
Her clinical experience and interests include supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, grief, depression and low mood, trauma and post-traumatic stress, challenges with self-esteem and self- compassion, emotional regulation and anger, self-harm and suicide prevention, and neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD and autism. Marta has a strong interest in working with multicultural and linguistically diverse communities, including refugees and migrant populations.
Approach to therapy
Marta’s therapeutic style is collaborative, strengths-focused, and neuroaffirming. She integrates evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s goals and needs, drawing on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, mindfulness and meditation techniques, and strengths-based interventions. Marta strives to create a supportive, inclusive, and respectful therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to work towards positive change.
